Trampers located by search team

1 min read

A LANDSAR team has now located a group of trampers after they activated their emergency locator beacon yesterday in the Ngamoko Range.

The group was located by a search team just before 12 noon today by the Puriri Stream.

The trampers and search team will be winched out from the range as the terrain is too difficult for vehicles to enter.

"The weather conditions are not great at the moment but we aim to winch them out as soon as it is safe to do so," says Search Coordinator Sergeant Bill Nicholson.

"Initial observations suggest the trampers are all ok but they will be seen by medical professionals once they are winched out."
