Arrests from Porirua confrontations

Porirua Police have today arrested five people from a series of confrontations that took place in Cannons Creek earlier than same evening that Fitzgerald Risati was stabbed.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Fabish, Porirua CIB, said a 17-year-old male student and two 18-year-old unemployed youths will appear in the Porirua Court tomorrow morning.

They have been charged with unlawful assembly, wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of offensive weapons stemming from a confrontation in Mungavin Avenue.

A 35-year-old Porirua man has been arrested and charged with unlawful assembly relating to an incident in Bedford Street, Porirua, last Friday night. He has been bailed to appear in the Porirua District Court on Tuesday, 18 December.

A 30-year-old Opotiki man has also been arrested and charged with unlawful assembly relating to the same incident. He will appear in the Opotiki District Court on Tuesday, 18 December.
