Teenage girl missing from Papakura

The Police Youth Action team at Mount Wellington is concerned for the safety and welfare of a teenage girl who absconded from a Papakura based technical training institution in November 2007.

Shannon HAMMOND aged 15 years is reported to have been seen only last week near Karangahape Road's red light area. The sighting by working girls and others who regularly frequent the locality is still unconfirmed. Police investigations into the sighting are continuing.

Police have issued a description of the missing girl.

Female - Maori descent

DOB 13/02/1992 - Age 15 years

Height - about 5 feet 10 inches

Mature build - not obese or fat.

Dark eyes and eyebrows - Olive complexion

Has a size 12 birth mark on top of one arm

Hair - light brown - but it could now be any colour or length

Originally from Christchurch - she is under the routine care of Child Youth and Family [CYFPS]
