1 min read

Auckland Police say a recent covert operation they carried out in Glen Innes has resulted in the discovery of one of the largest and most highly sophisticated clan labs ever seen.

Detective Sergeant Mark ROWBOTTOM of Mount Wellington says that police executed a search warrant at an address in Lintaine Place Glenn Innes at dawn on Thursday 17 January 2008.

On arrival at the property Police discovered firearms, drugs, cash, equipment and substances used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Stolen goods and electronic surveillance equipment were among other items located.

"There was sufficient product at this address to indicate to us that a multi million dollar drug operation was in progress," Detective Sergeant ROWBOTTOM," said.

A 41 year old unemployed male has been arrested and has appeared in Auckland District Court on charges including Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession for Supply and two of possessing firearms. He is now on bail until depositions on Thursday 27 March 2008.
