Arrests result from the alleged robbery of tourists at Akaroa

The police have made three arrests resulting from the investigation into the alleged aggravated robbery of three Dutch tourists in the early hours of Sunday 10 February 2008 in the Akaroa area.

The three have been charged with making a false statement to the police and will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow, Tuesday 19 February 2008.

The arrests were as a result of a joint Police and Customs operation.

The Police are no longer looking for any other person associated with this incident.
