1 min read

Waitakere CIB are in the Waitakere Ranges where the remains of a body have been discovered by a group of pig hunters.

Police say they were alerted to the discovery at about 5.10pm yesterday afternoon by a member of the group after they exited a sector of dense bush near Arataki Information Centre, on Scenic Drive.

Police personnel are completing a forensic examination at the scene.

Police say that they have good cause to believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of the decomposed remains.

A post mortem examination will be held immediately to determine the gender and the cause of death.
