Death of elderly woman prompts police enquiry

Waitakere Police have launched an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the recent sudden death of an elderly female in her home.

Police say the 84 year old woman's body was discovered inside her Henderson home on Friday evening. She was deceased. The death was considered to be normal and without suspicion.

The name of the deceased woman has not been released.

The enquiry into the cause of her death has been generated as a result of new information received by police today.

Police teams are interviewing a number of people and say these enquiries and a post mortem examination scheduled tomorrow will help determine whether the woman's death is suspicious or not.
