Upper Hutt Police have arrested a 41-year-old man in relation to an incident which happened on 11 November last year when an intruder entered a woman's home in Silverstream.
This morning Police executed a search warrant at an Upper Hutt address and have now charged the man with burglary and the sexual violation of the victim. The man will also face a further charge of burglary dating back to the 1999 burglary of an Upper Hutt retail store.
"The arrest of this man comes about as result of extensive work done by ESR Forensic with exhibits and other evidence as well as information provided by the public," Detective Sergeant Tony Heathcote said.
The man will appear in the Upper Hutt District Court at 2.15pm today.
