Marie Davis Inquiry

1 min read

Police have received over 200 calls since last night from the public volunteering information, says Inquiry O/C Detective Senior Sergeant Le Bas.

Some of these calls have been about the vehicle seen speeding on the Waimakariri River bank on the Sunday morning after Marie was last seen but Ms Le Bas would not be specific as to how many.

"We have had a busy day dealing with the information," she says. "We have to go through all the responses, following up leads and eliminating aspects of the information. It has been a tremendous response."

DSS Le Bas says the team would like anyone with information about the 4 door, light coloured sedan, seen speeding on the gravel road on Sunday morning 6 April, to contact them.

A flyer has been distributed to those properties in the area of the Waimakariri River where occupiers have not been located, asking them to contact police and many have come forward.
