Sexual Assault In Henderson

West Auckland Police are appealing to the public for any sightings or other information that will identify a man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Henderson early Sunday morning.

Detective Sergeant Sean Hyland-Mills, of the Waitakere CIB Adult Sexual Assault team says the incident happened at about 0500 hours on Sunday 29 June 2008. A man believed to be armed with a knife has gained entry to the rear of business premises on Great North Road Henderson. He's attacked and viciously assaulted a male and a female. Both occupants were teenagers.

After a brief struggle the offender rendered the young man unconscious. He then sexually assaulted the teenage girl for a duration of about 30 minutes.

Police have issued a description of the man they are seeking.

Male - Maori or Pacific Islander

Age - 30 - 40 years of age

Height - Approx - 6 feet or 185 cms

Appearance - Solid to fat build with a double chin - Short curly hair

Clothing - White zip up hooded sweat shirt plain with no designs and a blue cap - A leather vest underneath

"This offender was seen in the area prior to the attack. He's likely to have been in the CBD for some considerable time before assaulting the two teenagers," Detective Sergeant Sean Hyland-Mills said.
