Graffiti identification could lead to fire offenders

1 min read

Over night Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December 2008 on a wall in Tennyson Street and on a power box in front of the former church in Colombo Street (near the intersection with Tennyson St) there were two instances of new graffiti.

This is the same night as the fire at the new Christchurch South police station.

The Police are trying to identify the person because whoever was responsible for the tagging was in the vicinity of the fire and as such may well have information to assist with the fire investigation.

Following a review of the situation at the Police Station it now seems as though the damage to the building is greater than first thought with considerably more work required to repair and complete the building project.

Can anyone who has any information to assist in this enquiry please contact Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae at Hornby.
