We have been approached by one of the girls working on Manchester Street who told us that on the evening of the 2nd of January 2009 she was approached by a man who wanted to talk about Mellory Manning's death.
From what he said it was clear that he was parked close to the corner of Manchester Street and Peterborough Street in Christchurch around the time that Mellory disappeared and may have seen something. The girl asked him to make contact with Police but to date he has not. He is described as a male with short brown wavy hair aged in his late 40's and drives a small silver car which is possibly an Audi.
I would ask for this person to contact us at the homicide base.
