Thames man wanted

1 min read

Thames Police are hoping the public can help bring closure for the family of a man killed in a motorcycle crash a year ago as they seek the offending driver.

Constable Brian Connors of the Thames Police said there were two active warrants out for the arrest of David Edward Turner.

"It is alleged TURNER, 47, was the driver of a 4x4 vehicle that turned in front of a motorbike on Hauraki Rd in March last year, killing the rider.

"At the time of the crash he and his now ex-partner had convinced investigators that she was driving, both have subsequently been charged with perverting the course of justice."

The second warrant relates to TURNER failing to appear in court while he is also wanted in relation to a serious assault on a child over the last Christmas Holiday period.

"Obviously these matters are of an extremely serious nature and we would like to locate TURNER to resolve those but there is also the issue of us being able to bring closure for the family of the dead motorcyclist," said Mr Connors.

"He is known to have links in both the Hauraki and Tauranga areas and anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Thames Police Station on 07 8679600."
