Detectives investigating the death of 18-year-old Catherine Peters during a bridge swing are appealing for anyone who has relevant information, but hasn't yet spoken to police, to make contact.

Miss Peters died when she fell over 20 metres during a bridge swing off the Ballance Bridge over the Manawatu Gorge on Saturday around 2.45pm on Saturday (7 March).

Over 50 people have now been interviewed by police as part of the inquiry.

Detective Senior Sergeant Allan Mullacrane said: "We just want to make sure that there is no-one still out there that has information that may be relevant that hasn't had the chance to share that information. We also want to make sure that there are no photos or video footage from the day that hasn't been brought to our attention and that may be useful to the investigation."

A 46-year-old man currently faces a charge of manslaughter as a result of a police investigation into safety procedures on the day. Department of Labour is also investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police.

Media enquiries should be referred to Detective Senior Sgt Allan Mullacrane on 027 221 8969.
