Elderly man knocked down

An elderly man was knocked down as he attempted to cross a road last Thursday and police are seeking witnesses. The incident was on the corner of Hargood Street and Linwood Avenue on Thursday 27th March 2009 at about 8:15am in the morning.

The 75 year old man was trying to cross the road when he was knocked down by a cyclist. The cyclist stopped briefly to check on the man, but then left without giving any details.

A female driver who witnessed the incident, stopped to assist the man and called an Ambulance. The elderly man received minor injuries but still required medical treatment from a doctor.

The male cyclist is described as dark skinned, stocky build, aged between 18-23 years, wearing dark glasses, a cycle helmet and riding a red mountain bike. He rode off towards Linwood Park on Linwood Avenue.
