1 min read

Waitakere Police are appealing to any members of the public who witnessed a hit and run incident in Te Atatu last night to come forward.

Police say that about 9.50pm on Tuesday 19 May 2009 a 24 year old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while he was walking in Edmonton Road. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the crash.

A 20 year old female has appeared in Waitakere District Court today facing traffic charges. She has been remanded on bail without plea.

Detective Sergeant Sean Hyland-Mills, Officer in Charge of the enquiry, says police want to hear from anyone who saw a red Honda Accord being driven near the intersection of Edmonton Road, - School Road at this time.

Police are interested in hearing from the driver of a white coloured vehicle which narrowly avoided colliding with the Honda, only minutes prior to the hit and run incident.

Anyone with information can call the Henderson Police on 09 839 0600.

The seriously injured male is in critical care in Auckland Hospital. His condition is stable.
