Good Samaritan sought

Papanui Police are seeking a member of the public good Samaritan who went to the aid of a high school student when she was allegedly attacked by a man while waiting for the bus.

On Thursday 30 April at 9am the 15 year old Burnside High student was waiting at the Red Bus Stop at the corner of Philpotts Road and Glenfield Cres, Mairehau, when she was approached by a man whom she says she did not hear because she listening to her iPod. He grabbed her and threatened her however a member of the public chased him off and down Glenfield Crescent.

The alleged offender is described as a male Caucasian, 30- 40 years old, solid build with dark brown hair. He was wearing a black bandana over his mouth and nose.
