A further two people will appear on murder charges in the Hamilton District Court today after Police investigating the murder of Piki KINGI made further arrests.

Head of the Homicide Inquiry, Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Page, said the arrests were made yesterday.

"Supported by members of the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad investigators searched a Thames St address where they found a man wanted in relation to Mr KINGI'S murder.

"In conjunction with this a second man sought by the inquiry team was found just after he left a hotel in the centre of the City where he had stayed the night before."

Arising from these two arrests a 41-year-old unemployed man and a 20-year-old unemployed man were charged with murder and are due to appear in court today.

A post-mortem completed yesterday concluded Mr KINGI died as a result of suffering multiple head injuries.

"His body has been returned to his family," said Mr Page.

"While charges have been laid there remains a considerable amount of work to be done by the 30-strong inquiry team, at this stage Police would like to acknowledge the support given to them by the public in this investigation."
