Tonight there was a knife point robbery at the Caltex Service Station on Railway Ave in Lower Hutt.

Just before 9.30pm, two males entered the store where one of the offenders threatened the sole store attendant with a large knife.  The offenders have taken an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before running off.  They have run across Railway Ave and down Aglionby Street where they were then seen getting in to a dark coloured sedan.  This was last seen driving down to the end of the street and turning left on to Bridge Street.

The offenders are described as both males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.  One of them had a red coloured bandana across his face.  The store attendant was not injured during the robbery.
