Aggravated robbery at Mobil in Palmerston North

At approximately 4:15am on Thursday the 24th of March the Mobil Service Station situated on Pioneer Highway, Palmerston North was the subject of an aggravated robbery.

Three male offenders have confronted the sole station attendant and have stolen cash and cigarettes. The quantities of each are unknown at this stage.

The offenders were all wearing dark clothing and their faces were covered. One of the offenders held a weapon.

The three offenders have run away from the store and left in a vehicle parked in a nearby car park. They have driven off in the direction of the Awapuni area.

Police are keen to hear from anyone in the area of the Mobil Service Station at about 4am this morning who may have seen these offenders getting ready to commit the robbery or driving away from the scene.

Some information relating to the robbery is still unknown,  and we will attempt to provide as much information as possible, but there are some aspects still to be established and we will release this information when we know more.
