Appeal over dairy robbery in Tokoroa

Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a dairy in Tokoroa last night.

Two offenders entered the dairy on Balmoral Drive at about 7.30pm on Thursday, 1 December 2016.

One of them assaulted the member of staff before both offenders stole cigarettes and an amount of cash.

They were last seen running eastbound on Aotea Crescent.

The store worker was checked by ambulance staff at the scene and is being supported by Victim Support.  

Tokoroa CIB are continuing with their scene examination today and would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the robbery.

They would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw two people hanging around Balmoral Drive, or running eastbound on Aotea Crescent, around the time of the incident.

Officers are also keen to hear from anyone who hears about cheap cigarettes being sold in the area.
