Appeal for witnesses after cyclist injured in crash

A vehicle with a similar shape to this one was involved in the collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a cyclist and a car in Christchurch, earlier today.

At approximately 7.15am on Monday 5 September, a female cyclist was travelling north on Greers Road, towards Northcote Road.

As she passed the intersection with Sawyers Arms Road she was hit by a beige-coloured Toyota Corolla wagon, or similar vehicle, as it turned from Northcote Road on to Sawyers Arms Road. 

The vehicle left the scene without stopping. The cyclist was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle, witnesses to the collision, or anyone with information about what happened.
