An Armed Offenders Squad operation in the Hutt Valley has come to an end.
Police were called to an address in Whitemans Valley Road earlier this morning.
A deceased person was located inside the address. Police did not fire any shots.
Investigations are continuing but Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage.
The name of the deceased will not be released until all next-of-kin are informed.
A section of Whitemans Valley Road that had been cordoned off will reopen shortly.
