Arrest follows threats to Hamilton Winz office

1 min read

Reiterating their warnings from yesterday, Waikato Police say threatening behaviour in relation to workers trying to do their jobs will not be tolerated following the arrest of a man in Hamilton today.

Area Prevention Manager, Inspector Marcus Lynam, said armed Police went to an address on Firth St shortly after 2pm following threats being made against the Hamilton East Work and Income office overnight.

"As a result of this a 42-year-old man was arrested and is currently being interviewed by Police.

"At this time Police would like to reassure the public that we are taking all such threats seriously and would like to remind people that they cannot and should not think they can threaten others without consequence."
