Arrest made in Doyleston investigation

1 min read

Canterbury Police have today arrested a 51 year-old male and charged him with murder in relation to the death of Marcus Luke Tucker.

A 31 year-old female has also been arrested and charged with conspiring to assault and accessory after the fact.

Both are due to appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow.

As a result of these arrests, Police are now conducting a scene examination at a Bishopdale address.

Police are also asking the public for any sightings of a grey 1994 Nissan Cefiro travelling between Ruskin St, Addington, and Leeston on the evening of Sunday 24 April or the morning of Monday 25 April.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Christchurch Police on 03 363 7400. Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously via the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“These arrests have been the result of a hard working and highly skilled team of investigators,” says Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald. “This has been a challenging inquiry, but my staff have worked tirelessly throughout the week to ensure the family of Mr Tucker have some answers.”

“I’d also like to thank the community for their support and understanding so far. We’ve received an excellent response from them in terms of information throughout our investigation.”

As this matter is now before the courts, Police are unable to provide any further comment on this matter.
