Arrests in Whanganui homicide

Six people have been taken into custody by Police following the death of a 57-year-old man overnight in Whanganui.

The man died following an assault at a property in Rimu St, Whanganui.  The assault is believed to be connected to a dispute between individuals who are known to each other.

A post-mortem is expected to be conducted tomorrow.  Further details regarding the deceased, including his name, will not be released until next of kin are advised.

Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the assault, but would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any disturbance or disorder in the Rimu Street area on Sunday 8 November.  If you have information, please contact Whanganui Police.  You can also provide information anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
