The body of a 68-year-old Te Anau man has been recovered following a short search this evening.
The man’s body was found washed ashore on the beach at Martins Bay, north of Milford Sound. It is believed the man had been whitebaiting and has been swept away by the tide.
The search was conducted by volunteers, Land SAR and Police. The man’s death has been referred to the Coroner.
Police offer their sympathies to the friends and family of the deceased at this sad time.
