Commuters urged to avoid Hamilton CBD following fatal fall

1 min read

Waikato Police are advising central city commuters to expect delays heading into Hamilton today following a sudden death at a busy intersection this morning.

Shift manager, Senior Sergeant Juliet Burgess, of the Waikato District Command Centre, said emergency services were called to the intersection of Anglesea and Ward Streets about 8am.

“Cordons are currently being established around the area and officers are working to establish what has occurred.

“Initial indications at this point are that a man has fallen from a car park building. Ambulance staff attended the incident but the person suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Cordons are currently being established and diversions put in place but commuters can expect delays in this part of the CBD.”
