Cromwell man charged following quadbike fall death

A 23-year-old Cromwell man has been charged with careless use of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, after a passenger on a quadbike he was driving fell from the vehicle and later died from his injuries.

The passenger, 20-year-old Andrew Paul Grubb of Palmerston, fell from the quadbike on Wishart Crescent in Cromwell in the early hours of Sunday 11 September, 2016.

Five days later, on Friday 16 September, Mr Grubb died from his injuries in Dunedin Hospital.

The 23-year-old man is due to appear in the Alexandra District Court on Tuesday 6 December, 2016.
