Emergency services attended a rural property in Awakeri, near Whakatane, this morning (24 February) at approximately 9.25am. An elderly male was found deceased. It appears he had been on a quad bike, but it is unclear if the bike played a role in the man's death.
There are no suspicious circumstances and the matter has been referred to the Coroner.
