Police are warning motorists to expect delays following an incident on the South Western Motorway this morning.
Emergency services are in attendance on the southbound lanes near Mangere Bridge after a vehicle was reported to be on fire.
It has since been extinguished, however it is currently blocking lanes. No one was injured.
Efforts are being made to clear the lanes however there is already heavy traffic backed up area as a result.
Motorists travelling south are urged to avoid the South Western Motorway and anyone travelling to the airport is advised to take an alternative route.
