Dunedin Police looking for witnesses to serious assault

Dunedin Police are calling for witness to a serious assault in the central city on Friday 8 July.

A man and a woman were assaulted by a group of four to five males on Princess Street between the Octagon and Moray Place between 11pm and 11.30pm.

Police believe the alleged offenders may have been involved in a second incident a short time later in the same vicinity.

The male victim suffered a fracture to his jaw and is in hospital awaiting surgery. The female victim received minor facial cuts and bruises.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the assault or from anyone who may know the identity of the alleged offenders.
