Police have arrested a 28 year-old male and charged him with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after an incident on Melville St at around 1am this morning.
As a result of the incident, a 38 year-old male was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.
The male is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow. As the matter is now before the courts, police are unable to comment further.
