A third person has died in Palmerston North hospital tonight from her injuries, following a serious crash earlier in Marton which claimed the lives of two others.
The 69 year female was one of two occupants of the Mazda vehicle involved and was from Palmerston North.
The two occupants of a Holden Commodore that died were a 41 year old female and her 14 year old son, both from Wanganui. The other three occupants of that vehicle remain in hospital with critical to moderate injuries.
