Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash involving two vehicles on Queen Elizabeth Drive in Christchurch, at around 1.40pm.
The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene.
The road is currently closed, and diversions are in place at Burwood Road/QEll Drive and Marshland Road/QEll Drive.
The Serious Crash Unit have been advised.
