Four face drugs charges in Taihape

1 min read

On Monday 22 February 2016, two men and two women appeared in the Taihape District Court on a total of 30 charges related to drug dealing and one charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The charges arose as the result of search warrants executed by Police in Taihape on 11 February 2016.

Taihape Police had been investigating the drug offending over a period of several months, after members of the public came to Police with information concerning the supply of drugs to young people in the town.

“While the arrest of these four individuals is progress in the fight against drugs in our community, Police will continue to target people who sell drugs in our community," says Senior Constable Tony Lomas.

The four people charged, aged between 32 – 47 years, were all remanded in custody and will reappear in the Whanganui District Court on 1 March 2016.
