Hawera Police name crash victim

Hawera Police can now release the name of the woman killed in a collision involving a school bus near Ball Road Upper, between Hawera and Patea, yesterday afternoon.

She was 20-year-old Larissa Amelie Sirch from Germany. Miss Sirch had been in working New Zealand in the Taranaki area.

The 8-year-old girl who was airlifted from the scene to Wellington Hospital is now in a stable but serious condition.

Police are continuing their investigation into the crash and are in the process of speaking to witnesses. The death has been referred to the coroner.

Today the Serious Crash Unit will examine the bus and car involved in the crash.
