Incident in Tautuku area - UPDATE

Police can confirm the incident in the Tautuku area has now been resolved.

The incident began last night at approximately 6.00pm when police were called to the Tautuku area after reports that a male and a female had entered the empty Tautuku Lodge and were in possession of a firearm.

As a result of this information, the Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) and a dog team were deployed from Dunedin.

Shortly after 8.00am this morning, Monday 9 November, a 20 year-old male and 15 year-old female were removed from the address with no issues. Police are yet to lay any charges in relation to the incident

Police have now lifted the cordons on Chaslands Highway and the Highway is now free for traffic.
