1 min read

At 12.30am on Sunday, 19 July 2015, a male and a female were approached by another woman as they were walking besides Noel Leeming on Geroge St in Dunedin.

The woman has asked the male if he had her phone, and when he said he didn't have it, she has begun assaulting him by punching him in the face. Another male has then become involved and also assaulted the male by punching him in the face. While doing so, he has demanded the victim hand over his phone.

The victim has  handed over both his phone and wallet before the male has run off down the alley way to Great King Street.

A number of others have witnessed the assualt and have chased after the male offender. After catching up with him they have returned the victim's property.

Dunedin Police are wanting to speak with those who assisted the victim or witnessed the incident, and ask them to contact Detective Mark Durant on (03) 425 9578.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via the organisation, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
