The 24-year-old man who died in a fatal crash on River Road, Kawerau this morning, can now be named as Kane Karepa, from Kawerau.
He was one of two men on a motorbike which was in collision with a 4WD. The 17-year-old male, who was also on the bike, remains in hospital with serious injuries.
A crash investigation is continuing and it is yet to be confirmed which of the two men was the rider and which was the pillion passenger.
