Petrol can used in arsons

Levin Police are seeking information about a distinctive blue petrol container used to set fire to a house in Levin overnight.

The petrol can was ignited and left next to a house in Stuckey Street at about 4am on Monday 18 May.

The house suffered moderate damage.

It is the second arson attack on the dwelling in 10 days and Police say it's only good luck no-one has been injured or killed in these incidents.

On Wednesday 6 May the same address was targeted.   A fire was lit next to a shed at the back of the property while the sole occupant of the house was at home at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Parke on (06) 210 2210. Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
