Waikato Police can confirm that the 49 year-old man who died at a residential address in Meremere on Monday morning was Michael Patrick Robert Bull of Meremere.
Post mortem results indicate that Mr Bull was the victim of a violent assault following which he has died.
A scene examination continues at the address and Police are continuing their enquiries to ascertain the events leading up to this tragedy.
