Auckland City Police have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a man in Renton Rd, Mt Albert, in the early hours of this morning.
The man is believed to have died outside the Renton Rd address and his body remains on the street covered by a tent. An associate of the deceased was taken to Auckland Hospital by ambulance shortly after midnight where he underwent emergency surgery. He is reported to be in a stable condition. Police were called to the incident by people associated to the address.
Investigating officers, alongside ESR scientists, are this morning focused on getting underway with a detailed scene examination, speaking to witnesses and canvassing local residents for any information that might assist locating those involved in the fatal incident.
