The Canterbury Jockey Club and New Zealand Police wish to clarify that alcohol can and will be available at Riccarton Park Racecourse on New Zealand Cup Day this coming November contrary to a recent media report saying there would be a total ban.
Patrons attending ‘Cup Day’ this year will be able to purchase and enjoy alcoholic refreshments oncourse in a similar manner as in the past.
The Canterbury Jockey Club and the New Zealand Police are currently working closely together to improve the event experience for all this year and reduce alcohol related harm.
