Onehunga assault arrest

A 29 year-old man will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow on several charges in relation to last Saturday night's (April 4) alleged assaults of an Onehunga couple. 

The victims were notified of this afternoon's arrest and advised the man is charged with two counts of injuring with intent to injure, two of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, two of intentional damage and one count of burglary.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Newman said he was proud of the work his staff did over the past week, pleased to be able to advise the victims of today's development and thankful to all those who assisted the investigation.
