The team investigating the disappearance of Christchurch man Michael McGrath is today releasing new images of the 49-year-old.

These were captured on CCTV at Halswell New World on Friday 19 May at 12:38pm.

The clothing Mr McGrath is seen wearing in the images is similar to what he may have been last observed in before he was reported missing. The red t-shirt could be the exception.

We would like to hear from anyone who would have been visiting the supermarket during lunchtime on Friday 19 May.

If you saw Mr McGrath at the store, or indeed anytime, please contact Christchurch Central Police Station on 03 363 7400, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Detectives appreciate the support from media in raising public awareness of this missing persons case.

However, while the investigation is ongoing, Police are unable to go into specifics about areas being searched, the resources allocated to the inquiry, or when and where property belonging to Mr McGrath has been recovered.

The investigation team continues to interview persons of interest and witnesses but is not in a position to release those details.

ENDS

Note to media: Police are not releasing the moving CCTV footage.
