Police are seeking sightings of a man who escaped from Tauranga District Court this morning.
27-year-old Cohen Ratcliffe, from Tauranga had just entered a plea of not guilty to wounding with intent and was remanded into custody when he leapt from the dock.
Ratcliffe was pursued from the court by police and court security but they lost sight of him on McLean Street. Police have received a couple of sightings of him still in the Tauranga Central area but at this stage he has not been located.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants,
Any sightings of Ratcliffe should be reported immediately to Police using the 111 system.
