Police appeal for sightings of missing woman in Plimmerton

1 min read

Police are asking Plimmerton residents to check their backyards and sheds for any sign of missing woman Elisabeth Loughran.

The 68-year-old was last seen by her family at the Plimmerton Boating Club about 5pm yesterday.

Police Search and Rescue Sergeant Anthony Harmer says they had a sighting of Ms Loughran about 6pm yesterday on the track north of the marae.

The search is continuing at the northern end of Plimmerton, on the hill face and the coastal area. The Westpac rescue helicopter is being deployed to assist the search.

Offers of help with the search have come from members of the public, and Sergeant Harmer is asking residents in the area to check their backyards, sheds and any other spaces into which Ms Loughran may have gone.

Anyone who comes across Ms Loughran is asked to call 111, or if they have any information in relation to her possible whereabouts to phone Wellington Police on 04 381 2000.
