At approximately 6.55am on Friday 12 June 2015 a man using the Westpac ATM on Colombo Street, near the corner of Edgeware Road, was threatened with a knife by an unknown man wearing dark trousers and hoodie.  The man allegedly pushed the victim to the ground where he sustained two stab wounds to his left calf during a scuffle.

Detective Sergeant Geoff Rudduck says “The man in the hoodie fled the scene on foot in a southerly direction along Colombo Street.  A black two door car, possibly a Ford Laser hatchback, with distinctive silver trimmed mag wheels and a spoiler appeared to pursue the man along Colombo Street  before he was seen jumping the fence into a nearby property.”

The victim received medical treatment shortly after the incident and is understood to be recovering at home.

Canterbury Police encourage the driver of the black car or anyone who saw the car or the fleeing man last Friday to call Christchurch Central Police Station on 03 363 7400.

Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
