Police have now peacefully resolved the incident in Glenview where Police and AOS staff have been speaking with a man inside an address.
Shortly before 11.00pm, Police staff have made entry into the property and arrested the man. He will appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow.
A female, who was also at the property with the man, has also been removed safely and is speaking with staff.
Staff have now lifted the cordons in the area and the remaining residents are able to return to their homes.
Police would like to thank the community for their understanding and patience while they worked to peacefully resolve this situation.
As the matter is before the courts, police are unable to comment further.
